The next generation of mobile processors will surpass the performance the PS3 and Xbox 360

As reported by Tony Tamasi from Nvidia, the next generation of mobile graphics processors will be more productive than the processors in the PS3 or Xbox 360.

"Consoles PS3 and Xbox 360 are almost equal in performance to mobile devices ... The next generation of mobile phones will overtake them on this indicator," - said Tamasi.

Game consoles PS3 and Xbox 360 had become outdated in terms of graphics technology: their performance is 200 GFLOPS, whereas for modern graphics cards for PCs GeForce Titan, the figure is 4,500 gigaflops, while leaving this year PS4 1800 gigaflops.

The flagship mobile chip from Nvidia, Tegra 4 is already achieved performance of 80 gigaflops, and given the current rate of development of mobile processors, doubling is no surprise. For comparison, the previous generation, Tegra 3, the performance was only 12 gigaflops. Whole-only doubling the performance Tegra 4, you can get very close to the mark of 200 gigaflops.

Portable gaming console Shield is equipped with Nvidia’s next-generation chip, which will be released after the current model Tegra 4.
